Mamangeswarar Kovil batticaloa
Following the 10-day Mamangam Kovil Festival, a significant amount of plastic and other non-recyclable waste accumulated around the religious and heritage site. The Lions Club of Batticaloa Spectrum for Humanity partnered with local sports clubs, missionary school students, and District Secretariat Cultural Office staff to clean the temple premises and surrounding area. Fourteen Lions and 15 other participants, for a total of 29 volunteers, took part in the cleanup. Refreshments were provided to all participants in appreciation of their contribution. The activity helped restore the site's cleanliness and contributed to preserving its cultural and heritage significance, directly benefiting approximately 1,000 people.
