Eastern Cancer Care Hospice, Eravur
The Lions Club of Kattankudy conducted a meaningful humanitarian and environmental service project at the Eastern Cancer Care Hospice, Eravur, combining environmental care with compassionate support for patients and staff. The initiative was proposed and led by Club President Elect Lion Usaith, who encouraged Club members to undertake a project that would create a lasting and positive impact on the Hospice and its beneficiaries. As part of the environmental initiative, many useful and environmentally beneficial trees were planted within the premises of the Hospice. The project was aimed at improving the surroundings and creating a greener, healthier, and more peaceful environment for patients, caregivers, staff, and visitors. The tree planting also symbolized hope, renewal, growth, and a commitment to a better future. The project was honoured by the presence of Chief Guest Lion Dr. V. Yoganathan MJF, MAF, 2nd Vice District Governor, together with Guiding Lion Rajah. Members of the Lions Club of Kattankudy Excellence also participated, demonstrating the true spirit of Lions fellowship, unity, and collaborative service. To foster an environment of healing, peace, and environmental sustainability, a major tree plantation drive was executed within the premises of the Eastern Cancer Care Hospice. A variety of beneficial and eco-friendly trees were planted across the hospice grounds to transform the surroundings into a greener, healthier sanctuary for patients, caregivers, staff, and visitors alike. Symbolizing renewal, growth, and enduring hope, this initiative reinforces the Lions' commitment to environmental conservation while creating a soothing backdrop for clinical care.
