Sithivinayagar Temple, Kumana
The Lions Club of Batticaloa donated a water bowser to the Sevatkodiyon Organization of Sithivinayagar Temple, Kumana, to support pilgrims traveling to Kataragama—one of Sri Lanka’s most sacred multi-religious pilgrimage sites.
During the annual Esala season (15th–24th July), around 700–1,000 pilgrims daily use the Kumana route, stopping at Sithivinayagar Temple before continuing on foot through a जंगल path to Kataragama.
As this remote route lacks access to safe drinking water, the donation ensures the availability of clean water, supporting the health and well-being of pilgrims during their journey.
This water bowser will remain permanently with the Sevatkodiyon Organization, serve the temple, community and foot pilgrims for many more years
