Sewing Machine Donation – Livelihood Empowerment Project
• A sewing machine is more than a donation.
It is a livelihood empowerment project.
Mrs George is an amazing lady who has 5 children; 4 boys & a girl. Unfortunately her husband left her when the youngest girl was little. She had to fend for herself & her kids. She did many things with her hands so as to feed the kids & bring them up.
She is a seamstress. But, did not have her own sewing machine. Therefore, she used to go to her neighbour' home in order to sew clothes & thereby earn an income among many other duties to keep her home fires burning. She was able to well educate her children.
Two of her boys are studying at the campus, 1 is following a course to further his education at the Technical Institute. The next boy is following a course in Software engineering. And the girl will be reading for her A/L this coming August.
This lady is a very hard working person.
This project perfectly aligns with our mission to transform lives in our communities through nutrition support and livelihood initiatives.
