Premaratna (PMAF) During March 2026, the Lions Club of Bandarawela successfully carried forward its ongoing monthly community service initiative of providing tea and refreshments to the Vocational Training Unit at Base Hospital, Bandarawela. Conducted consistently every Tuesday and Friday, this initiative continued to offer comfort, motivation, and a sense of care to vocational trainees, patients, and hospital staff. This valuable project went beyond simply serving refreshments—it helped foster a calm, friendly, and supportive atmosphere within the unit, contributing positively to the emotional well-being of all beneficiaries. Each session served approximately 45 individuals, including trainees, patients, and staff members, who warmly welcomed and appreciated the initiative. Throughout the eight service days, members of the Lions Club of Bandarawela actively participated in distributing refreshments and engaging with beneficiaries. Their genuine interactions, kind gestures, and encouraging words helped uplift spirits and create a more positive environment within the hospital setting. In addition, the club continued its support by contributing towards the teachers’ allowances, recognizing the dedication and commitment of the instructors who play a vital role in equipping trainees with practical skills for independent living. Through this continuous service effort, the Lions Club of Bandarawela once again demonstrated its unwavering dedication to community care—enhancing well-being, spreading kindness, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those they serve
