A large-scale Breast Cancer Awareness initiative was successfully organized through a multi-district collaboration, demonstrating a strong collective commitment to community health. In Batticaloa, the awareness program was coordinated by District D10 with the active participation of all Lions Clubs. The event was led by the Indira Foundation and brought together a wide network of stakeholders, including social service organizations, government and health departments, as well as Lions and Leos.
Beyond the main awareness sessions, a series of supportive activities were conducted to maximize community engagement and impact. These sessions played a vital role in educating the public on early detection, prevention, and the importance of timely medical care. To ensure inclusive participation, Leos organized engaging activities for children, allowing parents to fully benefit from the awareness programs.
This collaborative effort not only enhanced public knowledge but also strengthened partnerships among key institutions, reflecting the value and far-reaching impact of united action in addressing critical health issues like breast cancer.
