In observance of the holy month of Ramadan, the Lions Family successfully conducted a distribution of dry ration gift packs to the Moulavis and dedicated staff of Masjids across Kattankudy and its surrounding areas.
This annual initiative, a cornerstone of the family’s ongoing commitment to community service, was generously sponsored by Lion Feroz Najeem and Lion Fahmy Najeem under the esteemed guidance of their father.
Recognizing the vital spiritual contributions of these individuals, the project aimed to provide essential support to those who serve the religious needs of the community. To ensure the aid reached the most deserving recipients, the selection process was meticulously coordinated using official statistics provided by the local Grama Niladhari (GS).
The project reached a total of 600 beneficiaries, with each carefully curated ration pack valued at 3,000/-. Each pack contained a balanced selection of essentials, including 5 kg of rice, 1 kg of chicken, and a variety of fresh vegetables such as carrots, leeks, onions, potatoes, and dhal.
The total logistical execution involved an expenditure of 20,000/- for transport, 3,000/- for porter services, and 5,000/- for refreshments for the volunteers. By maintaining this tradition year after year, the Najeem family and the Lions continues to foster a spirit of gratitude and communal harmony during this sacred season.
