The Batticaloa Badminton Court recently hosted a high-spirited tournament, bringing together local talent for a display of athleticism and community sportsmanship. The event was held under the distinguished patronage of the Chief Guest, Engineer Lion N.B. Ranjan MJF, MAF, a respected Senior Lion, whose presence underscored the importance of youth engagement through sports. With a total project value of 80,000, the tournament was successfully organized and executed under the leadership of Project Chairman Lion Usaith AliKhan PMAF, ensuring a professional and competitive environment for all participants. Three powerhouse teams competed for the prestigious Champion Trophy: the Eravur Racket Riders, Eravur Black Hitters, and the Kattankudy White Panthers. The matches were characterized by intense rallies and strategic play, drawing a vibrant crowd of supporters from both Eravur and Kattankudy. The tournament served not only as a platform for sporting excellence but also as a bridge for fostering fellowship among the neighboring regions, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the Lions Club's initiatives. After a series of grueling matches, the Eravur Racket Riders emerged as the undefeated tournament champions, securing the top spot on the podium. The Kattankudy White Panthers put up a formidable fight to claim the 1st Runner Up position, while the Eravur Black Hitters demonstrated great resilience to finish as the 2nd Runner Up. The closing ceremony featured the distribution of trophies by the Chief Guest, marking the successful conclusion of a significant community project.
