The Lions Club recently organized a high-impact badminton tournament at the Batticaloa Badminton Court, bringing together local talent for a day of intense athletic competition. The event was held with a total project value of 100,000/-, dedicated to sponsoring the prestigious Champion Trophy. The tournament was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Engineer Lion NB Ranjan MJF, MAF, a respected senior Lion, whose participation underscored the organization's commitment to fostering sportsmanship and community engagement through such initiatives. Under the diligent leadership of Project Chairman Lion Usaith AliKhan PMAF, the competition featured three formidable teams: the Eravur Racket Riders, the Eravur Black Hitters, and the Kattankudy White Panthers. Each team displayed remarkable skill and coordination, drawing a spirited crowd of supporters to the court. The atmosphere was charged with energy as the athletes competed not just for the trophy, but for the pride of their respective regions, highlighting the vibrant sporting culture within the district. After a series of closely contested matches, the Eravur Racket Riders emerged as the undisputed Champion Team, showcasing exceptional technique and perseverance. The tournament concluded with a formal trophy presentation, where the winning team was honored for their outstanding performance. This successful project not only provided a platform for local players to excel but also strengthened the bonds of fellowship and service that define the mission of the Lions Club.
