To mark World Mental Health Day, the Lions Club of Batticaloa, in collaboration with District D10 and other Lions Clubs, organized an awareness walk starting from the Kallady Bridge to Regional Director of Health Services (RDHS) office. The event was attended by the Batticaloa District Secretary & Government Agent, Lion District Governor 306 D10, Cabinet Officers, Director and staff of RDHS, the Brothers of Charity, children and staff of St. Joseph’s Special School, YMCA representatives, members of Disabled People’s Organizations, Representatives from Professional Psychosocial Counseling Center (PPC)
During the program, awareness speeches were delivered by mental health professionals and Lions members. In addition, a street drama highlighting mental health awareness was performed by the children of the special school.
