In the month of November 2025 Batticaloa district and many other hill country district was affected by heavy rainfall and flood, Murokkoddanchenai village was one of the most affected area in Batticaloa, people were moved to schools and other safe areas due to heavy rainfall, Lions Club of Batticaloa provided SLR 5000 worth dry-ration pack to 100 flood affected families
