Description

Cataract surgeries were performed for 102 elderly individuals from remote, low-income villages in Batticaloa. This programme was carried out in collaboration with the Friends of Batticaloa Hospitals (FOBH) Organization, the Lions Club of Batticaloa, and the Teaching Hospital Batticaloa. The surgeries were conducted by the eye surgeons of Teaching Hospital Batticaloa using their facilities and were successfully completed over two days. The lenses, medical kit and other arrangements were organized by the Lions Club of Batticaloa and FOBH, Leo Club of Batticaloa, Leo Club of Cecilian's and Leo Club of Vincenties assisted us in organizing and successfully completing the project
