Caring for Elders (Maintenance) – February 2026
The Caring for Elders (Maintenance) project was successfully continued throughout February 2026 at the Lions “Sanasuma” Elders Home, Amunudowa, Bandarawela. This ongoing monthly initiative remains dedicated to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living environment while continuously improving the health, dignity, and overall well-being of the elders residing in the home.
During the month of February, the Lions Club of Bandarawela extended its committed support through several important activities, including:
• Carrying out regular building maintenance and necessary repair work
• Settling monthly utility bills such as electricity, water, gas, and telephone services
• Providing transportation facilities for elders to attend medical clinics and attend to essential needs
• Organizing routine medical checkups and arranging required treatments
• Ensuring the daily comfort and care of the residents through continuous monitoring and support
Members of the Lions Club of Bandarawela visited the Elders Home twice each week to supervise maintenance activities, monitor the welfare of the residents, and spend meaningful time with the elders. Their dedication reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to serving the elderly community with compassion, care, and respect.
