Donation of Hearing Aids – Supporting the Hearing Impaired
On 09 February 2026, the Lions Club of Bandarawela successfully conducted a humanitarian project by donating 32 Hearing Aids through the Development Foundation for the Disabled Persons – Vocational Training Center, Perera mawatha, Bandarawela.
Out of the total beneficiaries:
• 20 students from the School for the Deaf and Blind, Dowa – Udu Kumbalwela, Ella received hearing aids.
• 12 additional hearing-impaired individuals from surrounding areas also benefited from this donation.
The total value of the project was Rs. 2,400,000 (Rs. 75,000/- × 32 hearing aids).
Breakfast was also provided for 12 participants as part of the event.
