Caring for Elders (Maintenance) – January 2026 The Caring for Elders (Maintenance) project was successfully carried out throughout January 2026 at the Lions “Sanasuma” Elders Home, Amunudowa, Bandarawela. This continuous monthly initiative remains focused on maintaining a safe, comfortable, and properly managed living environment while further enhancing the quality of life of the elders under our care. During the month of January, the Lions Club of Bandarawela provided dedicated support which included: • Ongoing building maintenance and essential repair work • Payment of monthly utility bills including electricity, water, gas, and telephone services • Providing transportation facilities for elders to attend medical appointments and meet daily requirements • Conducting regular medical checkups and arranging necessary treatments • Supporting funeral arrangements for three elders with dignity and respect Lions members visited the Elders Home twice a week to supervise maintenance work, assess the well-being of the residents, and offer personal care and companionship. Their consistent presence demonstrates the club’s strong commitment to serving elders with compassion, responsibility, and respect. Total Project Cost – January 2026: Rs. 417,919.00
