In January 2026, the Lions Club of Bandarawela continued its dedicated monthly service project by providing tea and refreshments to the Vocational Training Unit at Base Hospital, Bandarawela. Conducted every Tuesday and Friday, this ongoing initiative aimed to create a warm and supportive atmosphere for trainees, patients, and hospital staff.
Beyond offering refreshments, the project focused on promoting emotional well-being, reducing stress, and encouraging positive engagement within the hospital environment. Each session benefited approximately 45 individuals, including vocational trainees, patients receiving medical care, and staff members attached to the unit.
Throughout the 9 service days, Lions members actively participated by personally serving refreshments and sharing words of encouragement, strengthening morale and fostering mental wellness.
In addition, the Lions Club of Bandarawela extended financial assistance toward teachers’ allowances, recognizing their invaluable contribution in guiding trainees and empowering them toward sustainable livelihoods.
This continuous service reflects our unwavering commitment to holistic community care—supporting physical comfort, mental health, and emotional strength through compassionate action.
