Pilgrimage to Sri Dalada Maligawa – A Blessed Day for Our Beloved Elders
The Lions Club of Bandarawela organized a special pilgrimage to the sacred Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy on Monday, 26th January 2026, especially dedicated to the elders of the Lions “Sanasuma” Elders Home, Amunudowa, Bandarawela.
The highlight of this project was the opportunity given to 24 resident elders to worship and receive blessings at Sri Dalada Maligawa. For many of them, this was a long-awaited spiritual journey, bringing immense joy, peace, and fulfillment to their hearts.
They were accompanied by 10 staff and supporting crew members, 4 Lions and Lion Ladies, and 6 friends who ensured their comfort and safety throughout the trip.
During the journey, Past District Governor Lion Nimal Ranawaka (PMJF/PMAF) met the group in Nuwara Eliya and conveyed his best wishes, adding further encouragement to this meaningful initiative.
The Club provided breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea, refreshments, and all necessary pooja items, ensuring a comfortable and blessed experience for all participants.
