Project Description:
Our club organized and sponsored the District Thai Pongal Celebration at Yogar Suwamikal Girls’ Home, Sittandy, Batticaloa. The home provides shelter and education for girls who have lost their parents, creating a safe and caring environment for their growth.
Event Highlights:
The celebration was conducted in a traditional and joyful manner with the active participation of the girls. Lunch was provided to all the girls and invitees as part of the program.
The event was honored by the presence of District Governor Lion Logendran, who attended as the Chief Guest, and Second Vice District Governor Lion Athithan, who participated as the Special Guest. Members from various clubs also took part, making the event more meaningful and successful.
Impact:
The program brought happiness, cultural awareness, and emotional support to the girls, while strengthening fellowship among Lions members and promoting the spirit of service.
