The Water Supply Connection for Vulnerable Families Project was successfully implemented through a joint partnership between the Lions Club of Batticaloa (District 306 D10) and the Sydney Ceylon Lions Club (District 201 N5, Australia), with PALMERA Organization responsible for field-level implementation. The Leo Club of Cecilians also actively participated in the project.
The Lions Club of Batticaloa provided LKR 900,000 to PALMERA Organization for the implementation of the project, which was carried out in the Wellaveli Divisional Secretariat Division, a remote and underserved area. In coordination with the Wellaveli Divisional Secretary, PALMERA identified and recommended 42 vulnerable families for support.
Under this initiative, water connections from the main public water supply were provided to 42 households, directly benefiting 193 family members.
