Project Overview
The Lions Club of Bandarawela proudly initiated a major development project at the Lions “Sanasuma” Elders Home with the laying of the foundation stone for the proposed Sick Room (Hospital) Building, named “Senasuma Suwasewana” Health Care Centre.
This important healthcare facility is designed to provide improved medical support, rest areas, and emergency care for the senior citizens residing at the home. Establishing a dedicated sick room (hospital area) will greatly enhance the comfort, dignity, and well-being of the elders who require continuous medical attention.
The foundation stone ceremony was held on 16th October 2025 with the esteemed participation of the Chief Guest, Hon. Kapila Jayasekara, Governor of Uva Province, along with club leaders, members, and supporters.
This milestone marks a significant step in enhancing elder care services in the region.
The Lions Club of Bandarawela remains committed to serving the senior community with compassion, dedication, and long-term sustainable development through this meaningful healthcare initiative.
