Project Dates: 2nd, 5th, 9th, 12th, 16th, 19th, 23rd, 26th, and 30th of September 2025 (9 days in total)
Project Description:
During the month of September, our club continued the ongoing monthly service project of providing tea and refreshments to the Mental Health Unit, Base Hospital Bandarawela. This initiative is carried out every Tuesday and Friday to support 35 trainees undergoing vocational training and 5 staff members attached to the unit.
On average, 4 Lions members participated in each session, dedicating around 2 hours per day to serve refreshments and spend time with the beneficiaries, spreading warmth, encouragement, and care. This continuous project not only fulfills a basic need but also uplifts the morale of both patients and staff, reinforcing the Lions’ commitment to community service and compassion.
Value of the Project:
Beneficiaries: 40 per day × 9 days = 360 individuals
Refreshment Cost: 360 × Rs. 200.00 = Rs. 72,000.00
Total Value of the Project: Rs. 72,000.00
