As part of our Lions project, a Lunch Preparation and Distribution Programme was organized and conducted at Mamangam Temple in connection with the Mamangam Temple Festival. The main objective of this project was to prepare and provide lunch for devotees who attended the temple festival, as a service to the community and as an expression of compassion, unity, and social responsibility. The programme was carried out successfully with the active participation and dedication of eight volunteers from our club, who worked together in preparing, organizing, packing, and distributing the meals to the devotees. Approximately 350 people benefited from the programme, and lunch was prepared and served to the devotees in an organized and respectful manner. The volunteers contributed their time and effort throughout the programme, ensuring that the food was prepared properly, distributed efficiently, and that the needs of the devotees were attended to. The project also involved considerable logistical planning, including the purchase of food items, ingredients, cooking materials, packaging, transportation, and other necessary supplies. A total of approximately LKR 100,000 (one hundred thousand Sri Lankan rupees) was spent on the project to cover the overall expenses. Through this initiative, the volunteers were able to provide a valuable service to around 350 devotees while also gaining practical experience in teamwork, planning, coordination, resource management, and community service. Overall, the Lunch Preparation and Distribution Programme at Mamangam Temple was a meaningful and successful community project that demonstrated the importance of volunteering, collective responsibility, and serving the community, and it was completed successfully through the cooperation and commitment of all eight participating volunteers.
